XIIth Century Castle

Declared as a national monument, it has three floors. The first and second floors were built in the Almohad period, while the third belongs to the Mudejar architecture.

“Nuestra Señora de la Asunción” Parish church:

(We must emphasize its façade, of a levantine-plateresque style. Its interior is sustained in the gothic style, while the high altar has an elaborate churrigueresque style. The bell tower has a baroque style.


“Nuestra Señora de Gracia” shrine.

It was a chapel originally. Dated on the XVIIIth century, it is located in one of the most beautiful places of the town. It has a single nave with little lateral chapels and a neoclassical façade. Its rococo-styled front was finished in 1770.

“San Roque” quarter.
It preserves two beautiful doors to enter the wall that surrounds the neighbourhood. San Roque Arch and Jesus Arch, also called “Puerta de Xátiva” and “Puerta de Castilla”.


Municipal Ethnographic Museum.
Objects related to the history of Biar, occupations, tradition, craftsmanship and customs of the town. Important collection of weights and sticks for measuring.
